PRESS RELEASE: New Report Examines PRC Exposure of Seven Western Defense Primes
July 21, 2026

(New York, New York, July 21, 2026)

Strategy Risks today announced a new report that examines the exposure to the People’s Republic of China (PRC) of seven western defense primes. Drawing on Strategy Risks’ expertise in geopolitical risk analysis, the report examines seven companies that develop military aircraft, missile systems, avionics, communications equipment, and other technologies critical to the U.S. defense posture. The report concludes that several companies tasked with safeguarding U.S. national security remain deeply financially and politically entangled with the U.S.’s chief strategic adversary.

Excess PRC exposure in the U.S. defense industry is arguably the most critically overlooked aspect of U.S.-PRC competition. This report is intended to give Congress and the Department of War (DoW) a clearer picture of PRC involvement in the U.S. defense industrial base. The report dovetails with some of the proposed provisions in the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2027, which would require U.S. defense contractors to disclose or identify direct and indirect PRC exposure to qualify for DoW contracts, including ownership and control, supply chain exposure, business relationships, and critical technology exposure.

Isaac Stone Fish, CEO and Founder of Strategy Risks, commented that “One of the greatest challenges in managing geopolitical risk is that you can’t address what you don’t measure. This report quantifies and contextualizes PRC exposure across key defense contractors so that Congress, the Department of War, and industry leaders can make more informed decisions about the resilience of America’s defense industrial base.”

Due to the sensitive nature of the topic, access to the full report will be provided on a case-by-case basis. To request a copy of the report, please contact: Margaret Mitchell at Margaret@StrategyRisks.com.
