Full-Time Researcher

Location: Remote (Global)

Reports to: Research Director

 The Role

We are seeking a full-time researcher to support client-facing research projects across geopolitical, political, and strategic risk issues. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical instincts, excellent writing skills, and a deep interest in China, global affairs, and emerging risk issues.

The researcher will contribute to both recurring and project-based work, producing evidence-based analysis for clients operating in complex geopolitical environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct open-source research and investigations into geopolitical, political, economic, corporate, and strategic risk issues
• Research companies, executives, government entities, supply chains, and regulatory developments using English, Chinese, and foreign-language sources where appropriate
• Draft reports, briefings, memos, and other client-facing deliverables
• Assess the credibility of sources and validate information using primary and secondary materials
• Contribute to recurring research products and respond to time-sensitive client requests
• Support preparation for client briefings, presentations, and research calls
• Monitor developments related to China, international affairs, supply chains, sanctions, regulation, and broader geopolitical trends

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Experience in political risk, intelligence, geopolitics, journalism, academia, strategic analysis, or a related field
• Deep understanding of the relationship between corporations, governments, and geopolitical risk
• Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly to senior decision-makers
• Strong investigative instincts and attention to detail
• Familiarity with China-related issues, international affairs, or global markets
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Experience evaluating the credibility of sources and working with publicly available records
• Chinese language proficiency is a plus, but not required
• Experience with Python, Power BI, Excel, Canva, or similar research and visualization tools is a plus, but not required

Compensation: USD $55,000-$100,000, depending on experience, qualifications and skills

Part-Time Editor

Location: Remote

Type: Part-Time Contract, with potential for expanded scope

Reports to: Senior Research Team

The Role

We are seeking a part-time editor to support ongoing research projects and client-facing deliverables across geopolitical, political, and strategic risk themes. This role is ideal for someone with exceptional editorial judgment, strong writing instincts, and a deep interest in China, global affairs, and emerging risk issues.

The editor will work closely with researchers and leadership to refine analytical content into clear, concise, and polished client-ready deliverables for senior decision-makers. This includes improving clarity, structure, readability, and overall presentation while ensuring consistency in tone, argumentation, sourcing, and editorial quality across deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit reports, briefings, memos, and other client-facing deliverables for clarity, accuracy, tone, and consistency
• Improve structure, readability, and flow across analytical and research-driven content
• Review materials for grammar, style, formatting, and factual consistency
• Collaborate with researchers to strengthen arguments and presentation of analysis
• Ensure consistency in tone, argumentation, sourcing, and editorial quality across deliverables
• Help translate complex geo-political and strategic issues into accessible, decision-useful analysis
• Help maintain editorial standards and consistency across recurring research products
• Support rapid-turnaround editing needs for client requests and time-sensitive deliverables
• Assist with presentation formatting and external-facing written materials when needed

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Experience in editing, journalism, publishing, research, policy, communications, media, or related fields
• Exceptional written English skills and strong editorial judgment
• Ability to edit complex material into concise, client-ready language
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple dead lines independently
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Familiarity with AP, Chicago, or in-house editorial styles
• Experience with Canva, PowerPoint, or document design tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with geopolitical, political, economic, or international affairs topics
• Experience editing analytical, policy, intelligence, financial, or geopolitical content
• Chinese language proficiency
