For more than two decades, Missouri State University has operated a little-known MBA pipeline for Chinese state-owned enterprise executives, government officials, and Chinese defense contractors. This new report by Strategy Risks reveals that the program may have received tens of millions of dollars in U.S. taxpayer support while training individuals who later assumed senior positions in China’s defense industries, surveillance technology sector, and state-owned enterprises.
The report identifies numerous program participants who either worked at or later assumed senior roles within Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), a Chinese defense conglomerate repeatedly sanctioned by the U.S. government. The report also raises questions about the program’s funding arrangements, admissions practices, and longstanding relationships between university leadership and Chinese government institutions.
