Sam is a China Research Analyst for Strategy Risks. He holds an MA in International Economics and China Studies from the Johns Hopkins University School of International Studies (SAIS) in Washington, D.C. During his time with Johns Hopkins Sam was awarded a Graduate Certificate in Chinese and American Studies at the Hopkins-Nanjing Center in Nanjing, China. Sam holds a BA in Philosophy from Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada, where he spent his junior year studying Mandarin at National Taiwan University.
Previously, Sam worked with the Ontario government in Canada, and spent three years in education and translation in Tianjin, China. Sam has professional fluency in Mandarin, French, and Spanish
