Akram is Director of Research at Strategy Risks. A seasoned China analyst with a profound understanding of China’s internal politics, power dynamics, and their interactions and influence on shaping China’s economic and geopolitical interests, he brings over two decades of experience advising diverse partners from the U.S. government, private sector and non-profit on security and risk assessment within China’s political and corporate landscape.

At Strategy Risks, Akram closely follows China’s domestic politics and policy trends, industry regulations, maps out key stakeholders to identify and assess risk factors from investment, business partnership to human rights issues in business supply chains. Driven from China’s domestic context, Akram focuses on China’s growing malign influence in global business and international politics, China’s state capital and state involvement in domestic and international corporate business aimed at gaining competitive advantage in technology, business, and geopolitics.

Akram received his MBA from the University of Kent in England focusing on supply chain management. Akram is a fluent Mandarin Chinese speaker.
