We seek a highly motivated candidate to research and monitor micro and macro economic and political trends in China. Relevant experience compiling and analyzing information to explain economic data and forecast trends is a must. Candidates who either have or are working toward a degree in economics, business, finance, or a related field will be highly considered. The ideal candidate also commands a strong understanding of China and the private sector. Reading proficiency in Chinese is a must. Responsibilities Include: Conduct research on China economic issues and write reports synthesizing data for clients. Compile and analyze information to explain China economic data and forecast economic and market trends. Conduct research on and analysis of American companies operating in China. Organize and synthesize large amounts of economic and market data. Assist VP of Research and CEO with various other research tasks as assigned. Desired Knowledge, Education, and Experience: Undergraduate or Graduate Degree required Sector specific experience in supply chain, energy, or technology a plus Proficiency in Chinese and strong understanding of China and the private sector Strong English-language writing and communication skills Effective critical thinking, and strong attention to detail Outstanding research skills in both English and Chinese Excellent data analysis skills and strong attention to detail Financial modeling and data visualization experience a plus Experience living in, working on, or studying China Self-starter and ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Proficiency in MS Office Suite and G Suite The China Economic Research Analyst role is a full-time, fully remote position with an immediate start date.
