We seek a highly motivated candidate to direct the Research Department at Strategy Risks. Candidates who have management experience and a strong understanding of China and the private sector will be highly considered. The ideal candidate is an experienced and organized manager and researcher with a degree in policy, business, journalism, or a related field. Reading and speaking proficiency in Chinese is preferred, but not required.Responsibilities Include:Supervise, review, and provide feedback for a growing team of researchersEnsure that the research team has the resources, tools, and training needed to stay competitiveManage client projects: plan, organize, and direct the completion of specific research projectsEnsure internal and external research projects are completed on time and within scopeInteract with business development and company clients to plan and deliver research projectsRepresent the research department at internal meetings and manage related communication(If desired) Speaking to media and at events about company analysis of the U.S.-China spaceDesired Knowledge, Education, and Experience:5-8 years of experience in a relevant field, with qualitative and quantitative research experienceAt least 3 years of experience managing a teamStrong management and communication skillsExperience with data and knowledge managementStrong understanding of China and the private sectorExperience living in, working on, or studying ChinaReading and speaking proficiency in Chinese is preferred, but not requiredSelf-starter and ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentExperience collaborating with diverse groups of peopleProficiency in MS Office Suite and relevant research technologiesThe China Research Director role is a full-time paid position. This is a remote position with flexible scheduling. Salary and seniority of the position commensurate with experience.
